  • The aim of this section is to:

    • Provide a facility for users of the Nature of Dorset to produce their own reports, charts and maps from the 'tweeted' records in the database

    These aims are achieved by:

    • Providing base reports in different formats using all of the records in the database with filters for the user to then create a report to their own requirements
    • Providing base charts for different time frames using all of the records in the database with filters for the user to then create a chart to their own requirements
    • Providing base a distribution map using all of the records in the database with filters for the user to then create a distribution to their own requirements
    • Providing a facility to download report data to the users own computer in various formats
    • Providing a facility to print any report, chart or map generated on the users own printer

    This section can be used for:

    • Creating reports, charts and distribution maps for a selected species or species group
    • Creating reports, charts and distribution maps for sightings at any featured site or location
    • Creating reports, charts and distribution maps for records submitted by a particular contributor
    • Creating reports, charts and distribution maps for records submitted over an range of time periods
    • Printing reports, charts and distribution maps on your own printer
    • Exporting report data to your won computer for further work in software of your own choosing

    Three base reports for you to modify to produce your own tailor-made report:

    • Detailed report with all the records in the database available to query
    • Summarised report with one line per species with filters available
    • Timeset report showing species by year/month/week for the production of dated lists

     

    Three base bar charts that you can modify for your own purposes:

    • Month by day where you can select any month and see tweets per day
    • Year by month where you can select any year and see tweets per month
    • Year by year where you can produce charts with the number of tweets per year

     

    A base distribution map that you can adapt to produce:

    • A map of distribution of a species group or sub-group
    • A map of distribution of a particular species
    • Adapt either to show distribution in any month and/or year
